5 best summer treats! (In my house anyways)

With summer fast approaching, I have been thinking about my favotite things to eat in the summer that are quick, easy, delicious, and do not need an oven. I hnjoy my hope you enjoy my list of my all time favorite summer foods!

1) My ULTIMATE favorite snack is a frozen banana topped with lots of melted chocolate, which you then top with fresh strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries! Seriously the best thing ever I could eat this every day.

2) Fruit kabobs! Mine include chocolate covered strawberries, kiwi, blueberries, pineapple and blackberries! Super tasty as well when they are very slightly grilled. However i wouldn't recommend grilling the chocolate covered strawberries, it turns a messy pretty quickly.

3) My favorite summer drinks (non-alcoholic)- Pina Coladas and Strawberry Daquries! If you dont know how to make these, they are all very simple., and both mixed in blenders.
Pina Colada for two:
1/4 of a 46oz can Pineapple Juice
1/4 of a 15oz can cream of coconut (not coconut juice)
1/4 of a 15oz can pineapple slices
ice
*Blend together with ice until fairly thick, and add marachino cherries!
Strawberry Daquri for two:
2oz fresh lime juice
6oz fresh strawberries
2tsp sugar
1/2tsp pure vanilla extract
ice
*Blend together Lime Juice, Strawberries, Sugar, and Vanilla until smooth. Add ice and blend again until smooth and thick

4) For some reason i cannot eat this unless it is summer, it just doesnt feel right. But once summer time hits it is my favorite breakfast and also really simple. 9 grain toast, topped with cream cheese and fresh sliced strawberries.

5) Avacado Mango Salsa:
1 avacado, pitted, peeled, and diced
1 lime, juiced
1 mango, peeled, sliced, and diced
1 small red onion
1 habanero pepper, seeded and chopped
1 Tb chopped fresh cilantro
salt to taste
*Place the avocado in a serving bowl, and mix with the lime juice. Mix in the mango, onion, habanero pepper, cilantro and salt.

A step closer to my dream!

Well today was the big day my passport arrived in the mail! This means I am one step closer to my summer plans of spending the summer in Europe, being a full time nanny during the week, and traveling the continent! I'm planning on visiting Paris, Milan, and wherever else the road takes me! I literally cannot wait to be in Milan, one of the worlds fashion capitals! I will definitely be making many additions to my knowledge of fashion, as well as expanding my future New York City ready wardrobe! In approximately five months, I will be on a plane headed towards my dream vacation!

Want better skin? Put down the potato chips!

I know I want flawless skin, I obsess over it sometimes actually. Looking in stores for the next new product that is supposed to make your skin "perfect", making home face masks, washing my face a zillion times a day (which turns out just makes your skin very dry and then you have a whole new problem on your hands! Well recently I have been researching how to have consistently good skin and the answer was obvious, I really can't believe I haven't thought about it before! One way towards the healthy complexion you want, is to not stuff your body with junk food! According to www.lifescript.com the ten best foods for your complexion are: 1) avocados 2) mangos 3) almonds 4) cottage cheese 5) acerola cherries 6) oysters 7) baked potatoes 8) mushrooms 9) flaxseed oil 10) wheat germ. The worst foods for your complexion according to www.quickiechick.com are 1) dehydrating foods - ex: caffeine, alcohol, salty foods, etc. 2) high glycemic foods - ex: white bread, candy bars, white rice, etc. 3) trans-fat/ fried foods - ex: so many different foods come to mind !! Fast food?? But one that is used a lot in baking is margarine 4) red meat and dairy are actually not very good for your skin! I recently have started a lifestyle change, with my eating habits! For the next 3 months I am going to eat very healthy foods everyday (especially foods from the good for skin list!) and only one small portion of something mildly unhealthy. Also I am starting to take up running again to help with the healthy-ness. I hope I can get through 3 months, and I hear after that it becomes sort of a habit so I am hoping for that! So if all goes well I am starting my journey to flawless skin and a healthy lifestyle.

Every girl needs a skinny black belt!

A skinny black belt can style up almost any outfit! A variety of colors is better of course but for building your wardrobe a skinny black belt is a must!Skinny belts are always my favorite to wear with cardigans and dresses!

Outfit Number One!

Outfit Number One!
This is number one of hopefully many to come, depending on how long i decide to stick with this thing.  This is one of my favorite outfits! First of all i am in love with red lipstick so i say add it to almost everything! I like this outfit because it could with a few minor alterations (eg. shoes, purse) could be a whole day/night ensemble! Also it is really simple and super comfortable which is a major plus!

All about me!

I want what about a million other girls in the world want. I want to make it big in the fashion world. I want to go to school at FIT, visit Milan, Paris, and just about every other fashion capitol in the world. The difference between me and a million other girls? I know what i want, and I am determined to get there. I am going to start small, work my tail off, and make it to the top! I am a high school senior, so my plans haven't taken a huge jump start yet, but i decided starting a blog is one way to get me motivated, and start thinking, breathing, and living fashion a little more! I am positive that i know what i want to do with my life (or have at least a very good idea)! I want to work in Fashion Business. I want to be a buyer for companies like Dolce and Gabbana, Chanel, Fendi, and Louis Vuitton. I want to work with designers, learn the business and how to design with the hopes to start my own line someday! I'm just a girl with a big dream, from a small town, but hopefully, someday my name will appear in Vogue. Its a tall order, so I'm going to take it one step at a time!
